Rescue Strands was one of my pieces made of human hair which show case it, in a collective textile artist exhibition in 2021. That same year I started collecting cut-off residues from hair salons around Finland, focusing on water filtration. We made large hair booms for harbors to filter small oil spills that boats leave. This long braid was a statement in a more art format: hair can help clean the waterways!!!
